Former Sen. Bob Kerrey, D-Neb., is no longer president emeritus of the New School in New York.
“There’s lots of other things I want to do and it was not very well defined in the contract what I was supposed to do and the president and I agreed that separation’s the right thing,” Kerrey told the World-Herald on Friday.
Kerrey took on the role, which gave him the opportunity to earn between $400,000 and $600,000 a year, after his decade running the school ended in 2010.
He said the move will free him up to pursue other opportunities.
